DESCRIPTION:CKY \n  \nOnce upon a time\, CKY burned it all down\, with a raucous\, anarchic\, hard rock sound soaked in the skate-punk culture that birthed them and a hard-partying lifestyle onstage and off that decimated relationships and reputations in its wake. \nChad I Ginsburg\, the band’s guitarist and singer\, steps into the frontman role with charisma\, charm\, and bravado\, confidently delivering a diverse performance as he claims a position that was clearly rightfully his to own. \nHe’s joined in enduring partnership and musical and personal chemistry by fellow CKY cofounder\, Jess Margera\, the drummer whose extracurricular work in projects like The Company Band (with guys from Clutch and Fireball Ministry) expanded CKY’s horizons as much as Ginsburg’s solo work has as well. \nGuns N’ Roses\, Metallica\, and Deftones have all personally invited CKY on tour\, cementing a legacy as a hard-charging live act. CKY built a worldwide fanbase of dedicated acolytes\, friends\, and supporters\, lovingly dubbed the CKY Alliance\, with a broader group of musicians\, athletes\, and other creative types in the CKY family\, both literally and figuratively. \nCarver City (2009) debuted at #4 on the Hard Music charts. It was the second CKY album to debut in the Top 50 on the Billboard 200: An Answer Can Be Found (2005) hit #35 upon its release. But if anything\, The Phoenix is a spiritual successor to CKY’s breakthrough\, Infiltrate•Destroy•Rebuild (2002)\, with a hint of the appropriately titled debut\, Volume 1 (1999). \n“We’re grown adults now with an eagle-eye perspective on who we are\, what we do\, and how to do it right\,” Ginsburg declares\, with matter-of-fact certainty. “None of us are out there in the clouds. We’re pretty well-grounded people that have an honest perspective on where we’re at.” \nThe totality of the CKY experience is perhaps best summarized by a quote from enigmatic comic book legend\, author\, and self-proclaimed magician\, Alan Moore. “My experience of life is that it is is not divided up into genres; it’s a horrifying\, romantic\, tragic\, comical\, science-fiction cowboy detective novel. You know\, with a bit of pornography if you’re lucky.” \nMargera observes that it was “a perfect storm of events” that led to CKY becoming a pretty popular name. “When it’s happening\, you’re not paying attention. But once you get a couple of years under your belt\, you realize\, ‘Holy shit\, man. That was lucky as hell that happened to us!’\, ya’ know?” \n“We’re feeling rather lucky\,” Ginsburg agrees. “We’re not taking things for granted. We’re saturated in gratitude. It’s an incredibly humbled CKY\, with a fire to last another twenty years. The point is to go play rock n’ roll and appreciate everybody else who does it\, too. It’s a lucky job to have.”red

Just don’t ask him to do it\, because he won’t. He might do another show this year\, but probably not.” Al’s regulars\, howsoever biased\, speak of his talent like a family secret – Seattle folklore. How many times\, and for how many years\, has Dean elusively replied to some variation of the question\, “When will there be a record?” \n  \nThe phrase “hidden gem” would seem appropriate here\, but it’s a misnomer when talking about Dean Johnson. He shines bright\, in plain sight\, and it was only a matter of time before people stopped to take a look. Dean’s gentle and passionate approach to songwriting has inspired many\, and his work provides the listener the opportunity to believe once more that a song can be more than the sum of its parts. If you catch even a phrase of his melodies or the sobering tone of his voice\, it waltzes its way into your heart like a letter written\, signed\, sealed\, and delivered just for you. \n  \nHis debut album Nothing for Me\, Please was recorded at Mashed Potato Records in New Orleans with the help of Sam Gelband and Charlie Meyer\, Dean’s bandmates in The Sons of Rainier; as well as Mashed Potato regulars Sam Doores\, Duff Thompson and Steph Green. The record is a hazy\, relaxed daydream – anthems for those who know the sweetness and coldness of quiet moments\, the power and the pain of love. DESCRIPTION:Nara’s infatuation with deep\, heavy bass began in early 2010 in the woods of Southern Oregon where he was first introduced to the sound known as “Dubstep”. \nSince then he has made it his life pursuit and has never looked back. Quickly ascending the ranks in his hometown of Eugene\, OR\, Nara began sharing the stage with many of the artists who inspired him\, such as G Jones\, Charles The First\, Clozee\, Buku\, Gladkill\, and Troyboi. \nIn 2015\, Nara was one of the founding members of the Live Electronic Jazz group\, High Step Society. This group quickly gained a foothold and has been steadily touring and playing festivals \nWith his solo project Naraly\, he returns to his roots of deep and heavy bass. Combining the old-school sounds of Dubstep with modern West Coast Bass\, he aspires to keep your brain happy and your body moving.

Lorraine Earle has been a musician and teacher in Bellingham since earning her degree in piano performance at WWU\, where she studied with Ford Hill and Edwin Labounty. She especially enjoys collecting songs from her travels around the world. Kaeli Earle is a bassist\, cellist and vocalist currently living in Seattle\, WA. A Bellingham native\, she attended Berklee College of Music on full scholarship\, plays bass for bands High Pulp and Triple Mood\, and frequently collaborates with bands and artists in the Seattle area and beyond. \nDonations will be taken to benefit CAST\, a decades-long Bellingham tradition\, offering homemade sandwiches to people in need throughout the year. This event is not ticketed. However\, cash donations of appreciation are gladly accepted.
